A convention by-fans-for-fans!

El Paso has many connections to the Sci-Fi Universe. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek was born here and in 2002 the Gene Roddenberry Planetarium was named in his honor. Other El Pasoans with sci-fi connections include:

Alan Tudyk, born in El Paso was a supporting actor in the TV series “Firefly” and the movie “Serenity”. He played “Sonny” in “I, Robot” and appears in many other films.

F. Murray Abraham, an Academy Award winner (“Amadeus”) played the villain in the Star Trek movie “Insurrection”. He graduated from El Paso High and went to Texas Western College.

Chase Masterson, “Leeta”, Rom’s girlfriend from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in addition to many other films.

We have attended or participated as memorabilia vendors or sponsors in multiple sci-fi conventions since 2002 in El Paso, Las Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix, Tulsa, Los Angeles, Dallas, Albuquerque and Chicago. Over the years we have developed relationships with numerous stars and their agents as well as vendors and convention organizers.

Several major sci-fi conventions have been staged in El Paso over the years with various actors from Star Trek and Star Wars in attendance and we have attended and participated in all of them. In 2011 we sponsored Peter Mayhew (“Chewbacca” from Star Wars) at the El Paso Comic Book Convention and fans young and old lined up for hours to meet him and get his autograph.

We believe with support from the local fans and sponsors we can deliver the kind of family oriented sci-fi convention El Paso will be proud of.

On March 14, 15 and 16, 2014, we will hold the sci-fi convention at the El Paso Convention Center at 1 Civic Center Plaza
